ARTery ETHICAL CODEX
The ARTery Terms & Conditions are inclusive, considerate, and respectful. The program welcomes and supports citizens of Ukraine – people of all backgrounds and identities, including but not limited to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, color, sex, age, family status, religion, and mental and physical ability.
1. Principle of equal pay and treatment
People from Ukraine who will be employed within the ARTery initiative will receive the same conditions as other employees / staff in the same position. This principle applies to the ARTery movement hiring its own Ukrainian staff or freelancers, as well as third parties who provide employment to Ukrainian people through ARTery’s platform.
2. Principle of equity instead of equality
Organizations involved in the ARTery project agree to offer specific time conditions of work which will allow employees from Ukraine to leave the position if the situation in Ukraine requests their return home.
For example, any long-term employment contract should stipulate conditions that allow for the possibility of quick contract cancellation to allow Ukrainians to return home. In addition, any employment contract, whether long term or short term, should allow the Ukrainian employee to leave the job without any further consequence, including but not limited to reprimanding or financial penalties, provided the Ukrainian party submits a notice in written form. The notice submitting procedures should consider situations where notices can be submitted fast, simple, and require less than 8 more hours of continued presence in the job, before renouncing the contract.
3. Principle of continued profession
Organisations involved in the ARTery project will have in mind that one of the main goals of the initiative is to keep creative people using their creativity during war time outside of Ukraine and then encourage them to go back to work in free Ukraine.
